1. Pre-Book Your Ride
When traveling to the airport, it's best to pre-book your ride to the airport. While Uber or Lyft is an option, if your flight is early morning it may be best to book a cab (24/7) with your hotel's bell desk. If you're taking the city bus, you won't be able to bring luggage on board, so make sure to check if your carry-on and purse can fit on your lap.
The Cab: +1 808.422.2222 (Flat rate: $39.00 or metered fare)
2. Check-in to your flight
To make sure you don't miss your flight, set an alarm on your cell phone. This will help you stay on track and make sure you're ready to check into your flight on time.
3. Prep Your Boarding pass
When booking your flight, make sure to enter your full name, including your middle name. This will ensure that your boarding pass has the TSA Pre-Check on it. If you don't have this on your boarding pass, you'll need to get it added on at the gate.
Have a back-up of your boarding pass:
- Digital boarding pass (on airline app)
- Save to digital wallet
- Screenshot the QR ode
- Print out your boarding pass, if possible
4. Download Airline Apps
Download any airline apps that you might need with your login. This will make it easier to check for gate changes and access the plane's wifi. It will also help you find the closest restaurant or restroom in the airport.
5. Download any Entertainment/E-books/Apps
Download any entertainment that you might need for the flight onto your phone or tablet. This includes your Spotify playlist, Netflix movies, YouTube videos, e-books, or magazines. Doing this the night before (while you are on faster hotel wi-fi) will make it easier to access your entertainment once you're on the plane.
6. Charge Your Devices
Make sure to charge all of your devices and bring an external battery pack. This will ensure that you have enough power to use your phone or tablet once you land.
7. Get Breakfast the Night Before
To make sure you're fueled up and ready for your flight, get breakfast the night before. This could be a grab-and-go at your hotel or a muffin, banana, or snacks from the store.
Bonus Tip: Give Yourself More Time
When traveling, it's important to give yourself more time than necessary to avoid any hiccups. If you're flying domestic, arrive to the airport two hours prior. If you're flying international, arrive three hours prior.
By following these tips, you can make your early morning flight a little bit easier. Make sure to plan ahead and give yourself plenty of time to get to the airport. With a little bit of preparation, you can make your journey stress-free.
