Reasons to Book a Hawaii Flying Dress Photoshoot
How to Book
What is a Flying Dress Photoshoot
It's an absolutely amazing experience – overlooking the ocean, Hawaii breezes, and a long train of a dress.
How Does it Work
I opted for SUNRISE so I met with the photographer (Stacey Williams, owner of Flying Dress Photoshoot Hawaii) about 30-minutes prior.
Sunrise times are seasonal and you'll be notified of what time to meet after you make your reservation. I did the shoot early November so we met at 6:00am to prep and get the dress ready for the 6:30am shoot.
How Many People Can Be in the Shoot
You've got the photographer for 90-minutes. If your partner or friends/family want to jump in the photoshoot (but not wearing the flying dress), they can be in the photos at no extra charge.
What Makes the Dress Fly?
Unlike in Santorini (Greece), Hawaii has yearround 10-15mph tradewinds so the dress can fly in the breeze. I had an add-on stylist who helped flip the dress when the wind was not cooperating or to get the perfect photo so the dress could be laid out evenly.
While the stylist is an add-on charge, I'd 100% recommend it. The stylists have done these shoots tons and know exactly how to get the right angles. If you did not want to spend for a stylist, you can bring along a friend or family member to assist – but keep in mind, it might be challenging if that person has not done a photoshoot like this before.
Hawaii gets 10-20mph tradewinds yearround so it can be breezy. I wore my hair down for the best photos.
For footwear, I wore comfortable shoes to get to/from the location and packed flip-flops for easy on/off. I also packed a pair of high heels for one part of the photo shoot where I was sitting down.
