Jurassic Valley Zipline
“Jurassic” Valley ZIPLINE with dinosaurs??! (kidding) | Kualoa Ranch | OAHU
by Mariam Beard • Last Updated: June 2022
In this article, we are back at Kualoa Ranch and this time we are taking on the ZIPLINE! What makes this ZIPLINE special is that it is one of the few dual line ZIPLINES on the island, meaning you can zip side by side with someone else.
This makes it a great opportunity to take pictures, chat, or even scream across the way! In this article, we will take you through our experience at Kualoa Ranch and show you what this tour looks like.
After we had checked in at the kiosk, we jumped on the Kualoa shuttle van that took us from the main entry point all the way to the Kualoa Ranch Jurassic Valley Zipline Base Camp.
Once we arrived at the base camp, our guides helped us fit into our gear and pick out our helmets. After this, we were ready to go!
The tour consisted of seven different zip lines, two suspension bridges, and a few other things. We started with a “baby” zip line, and the zip lines gradually got longer and longer. There were convenient water stations and most of the hikes were accessible and pretty flat, though there were some inclines in between each of the different platforms.
The fourth zip line was 1287 feet long, which is almost a quarter of a mile! We attempted to race, but it was a windy day and our zipline guides let us know that when it’s a windy day, sometimes you can get stuck.
The fifth zip line had a kakina, which is a metal basket, that we had to aim for. The sixth zip line was a suspension bridge, and the seventh and final zip line was the fastest one because we were going completely downhill.
After the tour, we headed right back to base camp. Here, we had the opportunity to purchase photos and use the lockers and restrooms.
We had an amazing time at Kualoa Ranch! We highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for an exciting and unique experience.
- Wear covered-toed shoes (we wore regular running shoes or sneakers)
- GoPro or other action camera
- Carabiner clip for GoPro (to clip onto zipline harness)
